Lights across the world!

The lights in the pictures were amazing. There is definitely a visible line to what is dark and what is lights. These pictures are breath taking. it reminds of epcot in Disney world. The lights and glob just put everything into perspective!

Thanks Giving Traditions

My thanks giving traditions are the "normal traditions". My family gets together at my grandparents house, but  unlike most families, our family is extremely big. On my mother's side i have approximately 20+ cousins. So my thanks giving is getting together out in ole Whites ville. Before we eat  all the youngin go outside and play a little football. During the meal we all sit , where ever we can find a seat, and watch football. So basically my thanksgiving is spent watching football, eating good food and just being with the people i care about. Also the day before i go to my girlfriends grandparents house and participate in nearly the same activities.

Season Coming to an Ending.

This cross country season is drawing to an end. It seems like we were just getting started and now we have two weeks left. This season has been a very great season. We are city country champions for the second year in a row and are favorites for both region and state. We have grown as individuals and as a team. We went from being ranked 8th in state to a solid 4th. I have grown as runner, i went from last year running from 20 flat to running a pr( personal record) of 18:35. Be ready for next year because everyone will be very good and we will have an amazing group of runners.

Heat Vs. The Celtics & the Lakers

Last night was the start to the 2010-2011 NBA season. The first and most anticipated game was Heat vs the Celtics. This game was important because the heat are suppose to be the early season favorites due to the acquired Chris bosh and lebron James. But from the start the Heat were playing catch up. in the fourth quarter Lebron tried his heart out to be the celtics but couldnt cut into the 8 point margin with 2 to go. The heat lost their first season game. But in good news the champions last year beat the Rockets. By far the best team in the west the Lakers are looking to repeat.

Ghost Experience

During my stay at my cousins house last fall break my cousin and i had a ghost experience. We were in his room playing xbox and we heard a weird noise down in his basement. So, being the curious teens that we are, we went down to investigate we went down and saw nothing and heard nothing. But later that evening we were home alone and we heard something walking on the hardwood floor behind and by the window stood a shadow of what looked like a woman. We ran screaming like little girls! & the sounds and noises continued for the rest of the stay. It was the scariest time of my life.

Scary Movies

House of wax is the scariest movie ever. It is scary because through out the movie the plot twists around the characters decisions and chase scenes.  Good music, good actors and a great person that plays the scary or bad guy.Awesome run away scenes also scare me.

Fall Break 2010

Over fall break i went to gatlingburg with my girlfriend and her family. We stayed in a cabin up in the mountians. The view was spectacular and neighbors were far and few between. One thing that scared me that there was a big metal dumpster and everymorning its contents where dumped about it. This had me very worried, what could it be, a homeless person, a bear, or maybe a gang of racoons. So one morning as we were driving by we asked ,the person cleaning up, what was creating this mess. The man said a big  bear. That one sentence gave chills to all that heard. From then on if we were to leave the cabin we had to have someone with us and werent allowed outside at night or early morning. For the most part we stayed in town and shopped which was very fun. Also we went to cades cove one evening and saw over 50 deer! It was a great fall break. Now i cant wait till christmas!

What Fall means to me.

For me Fall means its time to get serious. I say that because in the cross country world we are starting to get down to business. In the fall we start having our really important races like city county regional meet an the meet Apollo host's. Also we begin our intense work out, we call it pain train. This work out is extremely hard but if done properly you will improve tremendously. But other than it being cross country time i find fall relaxing but the cold isn't my favorite. I look forward to hay rides, haunted houses, running, and just enjoying everything that fall has to offer.

Ode to Gray and Nathan together BFs

Gray and Nathan have been making high school classes more interesting joke after joke. But recently they have turned English class a period to which i look forward to. They create a discussion either out of jokes or seriousness. Seems impossible? I know right! But they succeeded in making class fly by. Its not a bad thing but sometimes they take it to an extreme as to were it becomes awkward to be in a class with them. But after awkwardness has passed everyone can laugh about it. Whats even better, we finally have a teacher with a sense of humor! She makes jokes and even laughs at the ones we say. But always keeping us in check, we still get done work too. English class is a joy thanks to gray & Nathan!

Watch Out DEER!

Yesterday Lauren & i were on the way home from here grandparents house, they live way out in Mosley ville, as we were driving by, Lauren said Deer STOP!. I slammed on the breaks and i saw this massive  buck run across the road. this deer wasn't your average size deer. This thing was massive! This deer was the biggest deer that both of us has ever saw. As i slammed on the breaks all the stuff in the back seat went flying forward. Both of our hearts were racing the whole way back! It was the closest to death that i have ever been. We are both lucky that the deer was big and fast!

Why the Yankees are the Yankees

One might say the Yankees are the most over paid, arrogant, obsurd team in all of pro sports. That maybe true but MLB wouldn't the same with out the Yankees. I once heard an espn new session where a commentator said something that i completly agree with, You either hate the Yankees or love them. Personally i love them. The main reason why the Yankees are as good as they are is because of thier previous owner, George Stienbrener, also know as the "Boss". Before the "Boss"  the yankees were one a 10 year World Series winless streak. But the year he took over he brought in many good players and they were back on top soon after. The Yankees are the Yankees because they are known for winning and they are known around the world. They are the biggest frachise in pro sports.

Ahh shin splints!

For the past week and a half i have had these things called shin splints. Shin splints is a term to describe pain and swelling in the front of the lower legs. the most probably reason why i have shin splints is due the increased mileage that the team has been running on pavement. To fight these pain i have been taking alieve and icing the affected areas. Trust me shin splints are something that i wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. These shin splints have bee affecting how i run, due to pain i cannot go as fast i would like. But they are starting to get better and i am looking forward to a fast, pain free race this weekend.

Attack Of the Bed Bugs!!

AHHHH! The bed bugs are here! In New York City bed bugs have taken over the nike flagship store. Nike is not the only store under attack, Nike joins the ranks those bed critters known as bugs that have hit Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, Victoria's Secret, Google, AMC Empire 25, the Manhattan DA's office and the Roosevelt Houses. While the nike is store is closed, pest control and exterminators work around the clock to get rid of these annoying pests. These little bugs have been getting in the clothes of theses stores and hiding out in the other buildings. Bed bugs come out at night and suck your blood and by morning they are gone. The hardest hit city as of now is New York. Letss hope they dont head this way!!

Family Vactions(Smokey Mountians)

My most cherished vacations with my family are when we go to the smokey mountians. The reason why i like smokey mountians is the atmosphere. The atomosphere of the mountinas is much different than any other. In the mountians i am at peace. I am surrounded by nature, flowing water and serenity. My favorite place in the mountians is this place called cades cove. It is a drive through park were you can see many different animals, bear, deer, rabbits, foxes ect... My family and i always and walk on the trials and paths. These walks and "journeys" are great fo the spirit. Everytime my parents say we are going there i get excited and cannot wait till we arrive.

Sickness

Being sick is terrible. I despise being sick. It ruins everything i want to do. I couldn't sleep friday night to because i felt like i was very dizzy. This past weekend i had plans in my head to run sub 20 in my race. I ran a 20:09. I think that is fairly decent but i would have liked to went faster. Also this past week end was my girlfriends birthday pary, and due to sickness i had leave early. But know everything is all better and i am feeling good and looking forward to this coming Weekend & the big race in nashville!

Drivers and how bad they are.

One of my major pet peevs is when people fail to use thier turning signal properly. An exapmle of this is when im sitting at a stop sign waiting for the car to go by so i can turn, but at the last second they use thier turning signal. When people do that it makes me very angry. Sometimes people just drive so stupid. They fail  to break enough, use turning signals. To add to this post, i hate people that drive slow! That is also a big pet pieve of mine.

Anticipation

I have been preparing for this Saturday for almost two months. This Saturday is the first cross country race of the season. The butter flys are already coming back and the memories of past races are fluttering in my mind. All i can think about is running. I can't get running out of my mind. The anticipation is getting to me little by little.  I have been visualizing how i am going to run the race and i feel like the team has a good chance at beating d.c. Also this is my jr year i'm finally an upper classman and i need to be a great exapmle for the underclassmen and do god my first race. The anticipation is also coming with prices i have been working hard this week doing work outs. I CAN NOT WAIT TILL THIS SATURDAY!!

The Spitting image of my grandfather.

My grandfather and i are very much alike. He is 5-9ish which is the same size as me. Just like him, i am rail thin. Just like my grandfather i am a very athletic person. I think i got my athleticism from him. I run like he ran. I am into the same sports as he is. During basketball season my grandfather and i get season tickets to kwc and attend as many games as we can. I have a natural tan like he does. the only thing different between us is that he has blue eyes and mine are brown. When he was younger and into his twenties he rode dirt bikes and of course by the age of 10 i was on a dirt bike myself. Many life lessons have been learned in his company.

Sports in the Life of a teenager.

Sports for most teenagers(including me) is very important. Well atleast for me. In the list of priority's my sport ranks third, underfamily/friends/god/ then school then sports. But honestly i think in some instances more then enough pressure is placed upon teens to do good and the punishments for if they dont are extremely harsh. I would like to see less pressure on student athletes and more on school work. i have noticed a trend in our school. Some student athletes who acheive alot on the field tend to achieve less in the class room. NOT SAYING EVERY ONE THAT PLAYS A SPORT DUMB. I'm just saying that more emphassis needs to be placed on school work then on a sport.

Music in the life of a teenager.

In the life of a teenager music playes a big role. The music teens listen to gives them an outlet to express thier feelings. Music also boots thier energy. An example of this is before cross country races i listen to my favorite songs to get me pumped up and ready to run. Also music puts teens in a lighter mood, if im in a bad mood i can listen to a song and it will lighten my mood. Music for me is a great outlet. I listen and use music everyday and it plays a big role in my life.
